Movies About Music And Musicians

All this week, leading up to the Academy Awards on Sunday, February 24, Pitchfork celebrates the magic of movie music with a series of features exploring what happens when moving image meets sound. We've made lists of the best movie soundtracks and best film scores of all time, interviewed music supervisors, film composers, musicians, and actors (and musician/actors), and explored the true stories behind two music-centric recent films, Green Book and the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. (We also wrote about performing Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's “Shallow” at karaoke over and over again.)

First up for Music & Movies week is our list of the 50 best movie soundtracks of all time and an interview with >If Beale Street Could Talk star Stephan James about what he's listening to right now. Grab some popcorn and dive in, and find all of our Music & Movies week coverage here.
